Project Executive

Responsibilities

Provide executive oversight and direction for multiple large-scale or complex projects
Align project execution with corporate strategy, financial goals, and operational priorities
Establish and enforce project governance, standards, and performance metrics
Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership on project status, risks, and opportunities
Oversee project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and profitability
Review and approve major financial commitments, change orders, and cost controls
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, scopes of work, and client requirements
Partner with finance and legal teams on claims, disputes, and risk mitigation strategies
Act as the senior point of contact for key clients and external stakeholders
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to support repeat business
Lead executive-level project meetings, negotiations, and issue resolution
Ensure client expectations are managed and satisfaction targets are met or exceeded
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks across schedule, cost, safety, and quality
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
Monitor quality assurance and quality control processes across all assigned projects
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons-learned integration
Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and senior project staff
Support staffing strategies, succession planning, and performance management
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
Promote safety, ethical conduct, and professional standards across all project teams
Support pursuit strategies, proposals, and executive presentations as needed
Provide input on project feasibility, pricing strategies, and resource planning
Leverage project performance and client relationships to identify growth opportunities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required
Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of large-scale, complex projects
Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects with significant budgets and risk profiles
Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, and risk mitigation
Proven ability to manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and profitability
In-depth knowledge of contract administration, change management, and claims resolution
Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the organization
Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and financial reporting tools
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop senior project teams and cross-functional stakeholders
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence, negotiate, and make sound decisions under pressure
Excellent organizational and delegation skills with a focus on accountability and results
Demonstrated ability to manage performance, resolve conflicts, and drive continuous improvement
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate complex project and financial information clearly to executive leadership and clients
Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills
Experience leading executive-level meetings and presentations
Ability to align project execution with organizational strategy and financial objectives
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills
Sound judgment in evaluating project trade-offs and escalation decisions

Preferred

Master's degree
Prior experience in an executive, senior management, or portfolio leadership role strongly preferred
Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, CCM, or equivalent preferred
