Responsibilities
Plan and execute internal audits and SOX 404 testing across financial and operational areas to evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
Perform risk assessments to identify key SOX and operational risks and develop audit and testing plans accordingly
Coordinate with process owners to document, test, and remediate SOX controls, including walkthroughs and control evaluations
Review financial statements, transaction cycles, and operational processes to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with SOX requirements
Identify control gaps, deficiencies, and process inefficiencies, and partner with management on remediation plans
Support continuous improvement of control environments as the business evolves
Prepare clear, well-documented audit reports outlining findings, root causes, and recommended corrective actions
Communicate results to management and track remediation efforts to timely completion
Maintain SOX documentation, testing evidence, and audit workpapers in accordance with internal standards
Monitor compliance with SEC, SOX, and other regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures
Stay current on regulatory updates, accounting guidance, and internal control best practices
Provide advisory support on internal controls, risk management, and process improvement initiatives
Assist with coordination between internal audit, external auditors, and management during quarterly reviews and annual audits
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in internal auditing, risk management, or related field
Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and audit techniques
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management and staff
Preferred
Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with audit management software
