Staff Accountant

LHH is supporting a rapidly growing distribution organization in Fort Worth that is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting financial accuracy across multiple operational areas, focusing on month-end work, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Contribute to month‑end close by preparing journal entries across areas such as AR, AP, inventory, and accruals
Reconcile a variety of balance sheet accounts and validate supporting subledger activity
Assist with preparing and reviewing rebate documentation and corresponding reconciliations
Complete bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies proactively
Produce cost‑related reporting and trend analysis supporting operational performance
Respond to profitability or performance questions from branch leadership with data‑driven insights
Assist with budgeting and forecasting efforts
Perform variance analysis, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
Support internal control processes and help maintain policy adherence
Take on special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed

Required

2–4 years of experience in general accounting, financial analysis, or similar roles
Strong analytical approach and willingness to problem-solve as issues arise
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit accounting team
Intermediate Excel skills (comfortable with functions, lookups, and multi-sheet workbooks)
Solid organizational skills and the ability to balance ongoing tasks with deadlines

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (strongly preferred)
Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Epicor P21 is a bonus
