Responsibilities
Set Technical Vision: Shape the future of LinkedIn Search by combining AI, LLMs, and systems innovation to deliver highly relevant and personalized member experiences
Architect for Scale: Build scalable, high-availability infrastructure to handle billions of queries reliably and efficiently
Drive Product Strategy: Partner closely with product, design, and AI teams to align technical investments with member and business needs
Foster a High-Performance Culture: Champion engineering best practices, quality, operational rigor, and innovation across the team
Cross-Functional Leadership: Influence and collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders to drive complex, high-impact initiatives forward
Stay Ahead of Trends: Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure LinkedIn Search remains an industry leader
Qualification
Required
PhD in a relevant field or related discipline (machine learning, statistics, computer science etc.), or equivalent research experience
10+ years of relevant work experience
Experience leading technical projects with multiple stakeholders
Preferred
10+ years experience in building engaging AI-powered consumer products at scale, with at least 5 of those years in a technical- leadership position
Experience in designing and optimizing search and recommender systems that create highly personalized experiences for LinkedIn's members and scale to solve complex business problems
Experience in leading large scale development projects from concept to multiple releases in production
Experience of technical leadership guiding and mentoring engineering and operations talent
Experience leading high-impact, cross-company initiatives
