Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Outbound Lead Generation

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will focus on lead generation by identifying and qualifying potential B2B customers, conducting outreach, and booking meetings for the Account Management team.

Responsibilities

Conduct multi-channel outbound outreach (calls, emails, LinkedIn) to targeted B2B prospects
Research ideal customer profiles (ICP), rental companies, and key decision-makers
Deliver value-led introductions to MCS solutions tailored to prospect needs
Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand business needs and challenges
Qualify leads against agreed criteria (industry, size, needs, readiness)
Book high quality discovery calls or demos for Account Managers
Maintain accurate logs of all outreach activity and lead status in our CRM system
Meet agreed activity, qualification, and meeting-booked targets, with a focus on lead quality rather than volume alone
Provide the sales team with feedback and insights from market conversations
Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align messaging, campaigns, and outreach priorities
Participate in training sessions to improve knowledge, product understanding, and success rates

Required

Proven experience in Sales Development, outbound B2B lead generation, prospecting, or appointment
Understanding of the SDR function, including pipeline creation, lead qualification, and handover to Account Managers
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching prospects, starting meaningful sales conversations, and building pipeline, rather than closing deals
Strong verbal communication with excellent persuasion and rapport-building skills
Confident working independently, managing your own schedule, and delivering results
Professional, clear, and friendly phone manner
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Comfortable using CRM systems and tracking activity

Preferred

Experience in B2B SaaS, ERP, or technology-based solutions
Knowledge of the rental or equipment hire industry
Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar tools
