Responsibilities
Lead a comprehensive data warehouse modernization initiative
Transition legacy systems on IBM Sailfish and IBM iSeries DB2 to a modern, scalable cloud-based architecture leveraging Snowflake on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Partner with both technical teams and business stakeholders
Qualification
Required
12+ years of experience in data engineering with significant hands-on involvement in data warehouse modernization initiatives
Expertise in IBM iSeries DB2 and IBM Sailfish, including migrating workloads from legacy systems
Deep experience with Snowflake architecture, data modeling (star/snowflake schemas), and performance tuning
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience optimizing queries and performance for large datasets
Extensive experience building data transformation workflows using DBT
Hands-on experience with Prefect (or similar orchestrators like Airflow) for workflow automation
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google BigQuery
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehouse design, and distributed data systems
Experience using Google Analytics and translating web data into business insights
Practical experience implementing Change Data Capture (CDC)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and architectural skills
