Residential Director ~ Caswell Developmental Center

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest and most complex agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of North Carolinians. The Residential Director at Caswell Developmental Center will oversee the administration and management of residential divisions, ensuring compliance with ICF standards and quality of care for residents with developmental disabilities.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall administration and management of five residential divisions, Healthcare (Central) Supervisors, and the Therapeutic Response Team
Ensures that active treatment is developed, implemented, and maintained for all residents in compliance with Federal Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) standards, as well as state and federal statutes
Oversees all aspects of residential life, including program development, quality assurance, and the performance and retention of qualified direct support staff
Monitors the development and execution of work plans for Developmental Services Managers, Program Coordinators, Healthcare Supervisors, and Healthcare Technicians
Oversees quality improvement activities and monthly data review to ensure regulatory compliance and support residents’ habilitation needs
Manages and allocates fiscal, equipment, and personnel resources, coordinates program development, and ensures compliance with NC Health Care Registry laws and all standards and policies governing service delivery

Required

Master's degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of administrative, supervisory or professional level treatment programming experience with the population at the facility being served, one year of which must have been in a residential program
Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of the above experience requirements, one year of which must have been in a residential program
An equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Knowledge and experience working with ID/MI, Dual Diagnosis, Autism, etc
Knowledge of the ICF/IID standards and experience with person-centered services delivery models
Knowledge of issues, statues and regulations involved in residential services delivery in an environment with individuals who have significant intellectual and developmental disabilities
Ability to manage resources in a transparent, results-oriented, anticipatory, collaborative and customary-focused manner
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including professionals, family members and/or guardians
Experience managing large organizational units and supervision within a residential setting using the NCVIP process
Ten years of experience in a professional level treatment programming of the developmentally disabled of which at least 5 years in a supervisory/administrative capacity over a large component having broad impact in a residential program or over a sizable unit comparable to a program unit
