Environmental Health Safety Specialist
PTS Advance is seeking an Environmental Health Safety Specialist to support their US Pipelines and Logistics team in Cheyenne, WY. The role involves working as a subject matter expert in Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while interacting with stakeholders and supporting operations.
Responsibilities
Interpret and apply OSHA regulations that govern the activities, products, and services of the facility to assist leaders in reflecting due diligence in decision making
Anticipate, identify, evaluate, and contribute to both proactive and reactive controls to mitigate risk
Devise practical and economical solutions to a broad range of health and safety challenges
Ensure compliance to our standards, processes and procedures while also ensuring compliance with the regulatory EHS and emergency management requirements
Perform emergency preparedness and response duties as defined in the emergency response plan
Support contractor management with a focus on hazard identification the creation of detailed health and safety plans, including exposure control, ventilation
Provide technical support and advice on DOT/PHMSA regulatory and safety issues associated with compliance training to improve compliance systems
Fulfill information requests for internal and external DOT / PHMSA and regulatory audits
Collaborate with the engineering, maintenance departments and field operations to ensure specifications are appropriate and current and that they meet compliance requirements
Qualification
Required
Certified Safety Professional (CSA) or a certification/diploma in occupational health and safety, and environment
Minimum 5 years' experience with a technical background in health, safety, and regulatory matters in the oil and gas industry
Understanding of Federal and State environmental, health & safety and emergency management legislation
Strong computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
