Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition: Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606), company policies, and customer contracts

Contract Review: Analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment and ensure proper documentation of key terms

Deferred Revenue Management: Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue

Monthly Close Activities: Prepare and post journal entries related to revenue and accounts receivable as part of the month-end close process

Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of revenue, accounts receivable, and related accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies

Revenue Reporting: Prepare revenue-related schedules and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including management and auditors

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue accounting

Audit Support: Assist with external and internal audits by preparing detailed revenue schedules, reports, and supporting documentation

Policy and Procedure Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and accounting standards related to revenue recognition

Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the dynamic needs of the accounting team

Required

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Accounting or Finance required

6+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on revenue accounting or similar functions

Comprehensive and current understanding of U.S. GAAP, with a particular emphasis on revenue recognition standards (e.g., ASC 606)

Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of revenue accounting principles, including GAAP and relevant regulations

Data Analysis and Excel Expertise: Proficient in data analysis and spreadsheet tools, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros

Detail-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to manage detailed financial records with accuracy and precision

Communication Skills: Ability to clearly present complex financial data and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions proactively

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
