Director of Special Events
Career Blazers Nonprofit Search is a mission-driven nonprofit committed to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. As the Area Director, you will lead the execution of mission-driven events and initiatives across a designated region, partnering closely with local chapters to drive impact and community engagement.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute special events and other approved fundraising activities within the designated market, including any additional fundraising initiatives
Deliver and oversee approved programs within the assigned market, including survivor support services, educational initiatives, and awareness campaigns
Lead the development and ongoing support of the Chapter board and its committees within the market area
Collaborate with Chapter Boards to create and implement a comprehensive business plan and budget for the designated market
Manage all aspects of volunteer engagement within the assigned area, including recruitment, training, placement, and recognition
Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and organizations to advance the organization's mission, increase engagement, and support local events and programs
Partner with media outlets to promote events and initiatives, raise public awareness, and support fundraising objectives
Oversee fiscal responsibilities within the market, including vendor relations, cash handling, expense oversight, and coordination with the National Office on accounts payable and receivable processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
2+ years of experience in nonprofit program implementation and special event fundraising
Proficient in general office technologies and software applications
Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Confident public speaker with strong presentation abilities
Commitment to upholding and modeling the organization's Core Values
Participation in all mandatory meetings and training sessions is required
Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with consistent on-site attendance
Ability to travel as necessary for meetings, events, and other work-related responsibilities
Frequently required to sit, speak, listen, and use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls
Occasionally required to stand or walk
Must be able to lift and move items up to 25 pounds, such as files or small packages
Visual requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
