Responsibilities
Represent clients in a full spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and related proceedings
Conduct initial client consultations and assess legal strategy, risks, and case fit
Advocate for clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
Collaborate with colleagues to develop thoughtful, effective legal strategies aligned with client goals
Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation within firm systems
Manage caseload independently while communicating proactively with the team regarding case needs and capacity
Qualification
Required
J.D. from an accredited law school and an active Virginia Bar License
1+ year of family litigation experience, including but not limited to hearings, motions, and case strategy
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A confident advocate with excellent client service skills and a patient demeanor
Preferred
Admission to additional bars, particularly Maryland or the District of Columbia
Familiarity with Clio or similar cloud-based practice management systems
Engagement in the local legal community through bar associations, committees, or professional organizations
