Fleet Diesel Mechanic

The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety while collaborating with the maintenance team.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines and complex hydraulic systems to identify mechanical and electrical faults
Conduct comprehensive repairs and rebuilds of diesel engines, transmissions, and rotary equipment components using specialized tools and diagnostic software
Execute routine and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability, safety compliance, and peak performance of heavy-duty vehicles and machinery
Oversee calibration and adjustment of engine controls, fuel injection systems, and emission control devices to meet manufacturer and environmental standards
Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to develop repair plans, estimate repair costs, and order necessary parts and materials efficiently
Maintain accurate service records, inspect safety systems, and ensure all repairs comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy equipment
Strong knowledge of diesel systems, including engines, hydraulics, electrical, and fuel systems
Ability to troubleshoot engine or system issues using diagnostic tools
Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, capable of solving complex mechanical issues with minimal supervision
Proficient with diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and repair software for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
Ability to manage repairs on-site, prioritize tasks, and complete work without direct supervision
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE")

Preferred

Field of Study Preferred: Diesel Mechanics Technology
Possession of relevant certifications such as ASE Diesel Certification or OEM-specific training
