Software Scrum Lead & Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Facilitate Agile-based project activities: Ensure that all Agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) are effectively carried out. Protect the team from external distractions and eliminate impediments to progress
Technical Stewardship: Interpret and communicate the technical director's plans to the team, ensuring alignment and understanding. Define system architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices. Oversee code quality, technical debt, and the integration of modern tools like AI-augmented development workflows
Stakeholder & Resource Management: Collaborate with Product Owners to refine backlogs and align technical requirements with product roadmaps. Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines while providing data-driven status reports to executive leadership
Monitor & Improve: Manage and verify all requirements, test plans, demo preparations, bug lists, and IRAD (Independent Research and Development) work. Sign off on completed work after thorough validation, ensuring all tasks meet the specified standards. Keep a detailed account of project status updates and facilitate the smooth progress of all project activities. Foster a "fail fast, learn fast" culture, using agile metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time) to drive team efficiency and innovation
Strategic Planning & Business Development: Assist in aligning product development cycles and performance benchmarks with the broader company strategy. Work with business development teams to draft winning proposals and maintain strong customer relations
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 7+ years in a relevant project management or Scrum Master role, preferably in a technical or engineering environment
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline from an accredited institution
Proficiency in Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively coordinate with all project stakeholders
Keen attention to detail, ensuring high-quality standards in all deliverables
Ability to adapt quickly and efficiently to changing project priorities and demands
Preferred
Certification in Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certifications
Familiarity with project management and issue tracking tools such as Jira or Trello
Proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Domain knowledge in ATM, GBDAA, and/or C-UAS
