LHH is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to manage close activities and provide insightful analysis to drive product and inventory decisions. The role involves leading cost accounting efforts, maintaining product costs, and collaborating with operations to improve financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly & quarterly close activities within cost accounting
Build/maintain product standard costs; analyze new product costs to guide development decisions
Audit and improve BOMs; lead costing request initiatives
Coordinate annual reviews of inventory standard costs, labor, and overhead rates with ops finance
Reconcile inventory‑related GL accounts; translate results into actionable insights for stakeholders
Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packages; explain variances and trends to management
Ensure adherence to accounting policies; help plants resolve accounting issues
Contribute to company‑wide policies & procedures on inventory and standard costing
Support cross‑functional projects; occasional evenings/weekends during close

Qualification

Cost AccountingERP experienceAdvanced ExcelCPACMAPower BIProcess improvementMicrosoft OfficeManufacturing backgroundClear communication

Required

Bachelor's in Accounting (required)
3+ years related experience
Advanced Excel; solid Microsoft Office skills
ERP experience required (Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus)
Strength in process improvement, analysis, and clear communication

Preferred

CPA or CMA preferred (or in progress)
manufacturing background strongly preferred
Power BI experience preferred; comfort turning data into decisions
