Responsibilities
Identify and tell stories to promote schools through strong writing and multimedia content about district news, events, programs, services, students, staff and facilities
Plan, write and edit content for websites, digital and print newsletters, social media and press releases
Create social media and web content, including photos, videos and graphics, related to academics, athletics, extracurriculars, community events and district initiatives
Coordinate with news media and district staff on coverage of district news
Additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, public affairs or a closely related field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong command of grammar and the ability to submit clean copy on deadline
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to manage relationships, work in a team, work with senior leadership, and effectively communicate with stakeholders
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, including the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tight deadlines simultaneously
Preferred
Experience working in the communications field preferred
