Packaging Compliance Analyst

Responsibilities
Be the first line of defense for auditing packaging integrity and labeling compliance of inbound components to the warehouse, relative to specifications in Pack Spec and the online supplier packaging portal
Become fully acquainted with all information systems regarding inventory management and logistics to support reporting, including but not limited to: PFEP, Shipping Label Tracker, Packaging Compliance Tracker, and Logistics KPIs
Augment the packaging database and correct any incomplete documentation with data, drawings, and photographs
Provide information for supplier corrective actions. Assist in documenting the success or failure of trial packaging, capturing its condition upon reception at the warehouse, and its feasibility for use at the production line with Packaging Engineers, MFEs, MFG, Logistics, suppliers, SSMs, and SQEs
Become an expert on packaging strategy and be aware of its implications in the manufacturing environment. Propose packaging design ideas based on customer requirements, lineside production processes, logistics, inventory planning, warehousing, and regulatory requirements
Support the execution and evolution of a packaging strategy for existing components, new product introductions, cost savings, quality improvements, or other logistics improvement measures
Flag potential issues or packaging improvements with pre-production packaging
Become an expert in kitting, packaging, and repackaging as it affects logistics, transportation, and line-side manufacturing
Actively be involved in packaging deviation requests, with start and stop dates, and closure
Investigate and track incoming packaging damage to the logistics warehouse for compliance issues and propose ideas for improvement
Complete follow-up verifications with stakeholders to ensure that all actions have been completed
Maintain good relationships with different multi-functional teams and suppliers
Develop and improve processes, procedures, and reporting to ensure appropriate follow-up and ongoing resolution of all requests
Develop data-driven reporting (Dashboard) for multiple levels of management
Work with Packaging Engineers in prototype packaging reviews and sample parts for packaging reviews
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or 1-2 years of industry experience
Experience in logistics operations, supply chain operations, SAP, and automotive manufacturing
Knowledge of expendable/returnable packaging, shipping labeling, lean manufacturing principles, warehouse processes, and line-side operations
Preferred
Knowledge of CAD and technical drawings
Familiarity with automotive development, robotics, and warehouse automation
