Responsibilities

Overseeing execution of the Senator’s schedule during State Work Periods
Acting as the Senator’s representative, including in delivering remarks on his behalf
Creating and proactively building relationships with stakeholders
Staying up-to-date on and engaging in, as appropriate, legislative and non-legislative issues in or affecting the state
Working directly and frequently with constituents, community leaders, and organizations
Managing all staff in New Mexico

Required

Extensive professional experience in New Mexico
A history of working with local stakeholders
A strong management approach focused on empowering and supporting staff
Ability to oversee execution of the Senator's schedule during State Work Periods
Ability to act as the Senator's representative, including in delivering remarks on his behalf
Ability to create and proactively build relationships with stakeholders
Ability to stay up-to-date on and engage in legislative and non-legislative issues in or affecting the state
Ability to work directly and frequently with constituents, community leaders, and organizations
Ability to manage all staff in New Mexico
Willingness to work in the office

Preferred

Substantial applicable work experience is strongly preferred
Fluency in Spanish is a plus
