Conversational UX / Voice User Interface (VUI) Designer
Delta System & Software, Inc. is seeking a 10+ years experienced Conversational UX / Voice User Interface (VUI) Designer to design, evaluate, and optimize chat and voice-based experiences across platforms and devices. The ideal candidate will combine strong interaction design skills, linguistic knowledge, and technical understanding of conversational AI to create intuitive, scalable, and human-centered conversational systems.
Responsibilities
Ability to Design sample dialogs, conversation flows, flow diagrams, and low-to-high fidelity prototypes to communicate chat and voice interaction concepts
Ability to Create detailed, comprehensive chat and VUI design specifications in collaboration with product managers, engineers, and other designers
Ability to Evaluate usability, audio consistency, and effectiveness of existing dialog flows; identify gaps and recommend design improvements
Ability to Develop and maintain conversational design guidelines, prompt-writing standards, reusable components, and reference artifacts
Ability to Design deterministic and AI-augmented chat and voice bots with a solid understanding of system architecture and technical constraints
Ability to Create speech-enabled interaction flows across a variety of devices, platforms, and usage contexts (mobile, web, IVR, smart devices)
Ability to Partner with backend and platform teams to integrate conversational experiences with APIs, services, and fulfillment systems
Ability to Apply systems thinking to ensure consistency across channels while aligning with user mental models and business goals
Ability to Balance user needs, accessibility, technical feasibility, and business requirements throughout the design lifecycle
Ability to Document processes, best practices, and design decisions to support team scalability and knowledge sharing
Qualification
Required
10+ Years experienced Conversational UX / Voice User Interface (VUI) Designer
Strong interaction design skills
Linguistic knowledge
Technical understanding of conversational AI
