Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and mentor a team of mortgage closers to achieve productivity, quality, and service-level goals

Serve as the escalation point for complex, high-risk, or high-profile files, providing guidance and resolution to ensure on-time closings

Review closing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor, agency, regulatory, state-specific, and Housing Finance Agency (HFA) requirements

Ensure adherence to company policies and federal and state regulations, including RESPA/TILA, TRID, and all applicable state and HFA program guidelines

Maintain expert proficiency in closing requirements across all states in which the company operates, including community property, dry/wet funding, escrow, attorney, and recording variances

Act as a subject matter expert for HFA programs, down payment assistance, MCCs, and bond loans, ensuring accurate documentation and funding readiness

Partner with underwriting, processing, funding, title, escrow, and settlement agents to resolve issues and meet deadlines

Manage pipeline workflow, prioritize tasks, and reallocate resources as needed to address volume fluctuations

Deliver high-touch customer service to borrowers, realtors, attorneys, and internal partners, resolving concerns professionally and promptly

Exercise strong judgment in chaotic or time-sensitive situations to mitigate risk and keep transactions moving forward

Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience

Assist management with performance management, training, onboarding, and development of team members

Track and report key performance indicators and drive accountability

Ensure strict confidentiality and data security of borrower information
