HilltopSecurities is seeking a part-time Intern to join our Public Finance & Fixed Income Capital Markets team in Chicago. This role offers hands-on experience, allowing you to apply practical knowledge while supporting key initiatives and gaining insight into the daily operations of the organization.

Responsibilities

Work directly with Traders and Public Finance bankers to support this line of business, including opportunity to perform data analysis and deliver presentations to Public Finance leadership and training on municipal finance
Perform financial data analysis
Review client memos, assist with development of presentation materials and proposals for new and existing clients
Shadow full-time employees as they interact with potential and existing clients
Assist Public Finance bankers and disclosure departments
Other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Strong interest in investment banking
Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac), and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Desire to learn about career opportunities in the financial services industry
Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not

Preferred

Rising Senior pursuing finance or related field is preferred
Some experience (0 – 1 year) is preferred but not required
