Associate Instructional Design Manager

Responsibilities
You will analyze, design, and develop complex training and performance support solutions
You will support the implementation and evaluation of highly complex training and performance support solutions
You will build rapport and relationships with SMEs, business partners, and stakeholders within Dexcom to understand needs and align solutions
You will collaborate to document and publish internal processes and standards
You will use training evaluation data to identify opportunities and drive ongoing performance improvement within both the business and the training process
Qualification
Required
Experience within the training, performance improvement, or related space; a minimum of 2 years managing projects
Extensive knowledge of adult learning theory
Extensive knowledge of needs assessment approaches and techniques
Extensive knowledge of performance analysis methods and techniques
Extensive knowledge of methods and techniques for developing learning and behavioral outcomes
Extensive knowledge of instructional design models and processes
Extensive knowledge of criteria used to assess the quality and relevance of instructional content in relation to the desired learning or behavioral outcomes
Extensive knowledge of selection of delivery options and media for training and learning events to achieve the desired learning or behavioral outcomes
Extensive knowledge of designing and developing both knowledge-based and performance-based assessments to the desired learning or behavioral outcomes
Strong experience in analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing technical, skills-based training
Strong experience in designing, developing, and delivering training and performance support solutions using different instructional modalities and authoring tools across multiple platforms
Strong experience in using a learning management system to manage the deployment of training materials
Strong experience in helping individuals or teams identify goals, develop realistic action plans, seek development opportunities, and monitor progress and accountability
Strong experience in developing project plans and schedules that integrate resources, tasks, and timelines
Strong experience in establishing, monitoring, and communicating progress toward project goals and milestones
Strong experience in evaluating and prioritizing implications, risks, feasibility, and consequences of potential activities
Understanding of how training, development, and performance improvement contributes to an organization's competitive advantage
Success in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Effective communication skills such as active listening; expressing ideas clearly and concisely; providing timely, constructive feedback; and adapting communication style as needed for intended audience
A high level of emotional intelligence
Strong conflict mitigation skills
Ability to flex and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Ability to function well in situations with high levels of ambiguity
Comfort with escalating issues and challenges, along with proposed solutions, to leadership quickly
Willingness to collaborate and share knowledge both departmentally and cross-functionally
Proven success working with remote teams
A willingness to do the right thing
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 – 8 years of related experience
Preferred
Manufacturing, medical device, or high-tech industry experience
Degrees in training, learning and development, human performance improvement, or related fields
Instructional design, training, or facilitation certificate or credentials
Project management certification or comparable experience
Behavioral assessment certification (e.g., DiSC)
Certification in specific job/task analysis methodologies (e.g., DACUM)
Experience with start-up/scale-up organizations
