Responsibilities
Design under‑body and upper‑body low‑voltage wiring harnesses that meet cost, weight, quality, and timing targets
Apply Robustness Engineering disciplines (FMEA, P‑Diagram, quality history)
Lead Technical Design Reviews and manage part releases in FEDEBOM and WERS
Audit and maintain accurate Bill of Materials through prototype and production phases
Identify and support validation, durability, and functional testing (DVP)
Troubleshoot issues in digital and physical build phases
Develop proposals to reduce giveaway cost and optimize design
Support prototype and production build events and manufacturing quality forums
Ensure deliverables are met for each program milestone
Support plant implementation, quality resolution, and cross-functional engineering alignment
Maintain complexity charts, perform harness complexity analysis, and generate engineering cost estimates
Travel domestically or to Mexico/Central America as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
5–10 years of wiring harness design and vehicle launch experience
Hands‑on experience designing and releasing low‑voltage wiring harnesses
Basic 3D CAD knowledge – 3DX preferred; CATIA/TeamCenter considered
Understanding of feature partitioning and automotive systems
Experience with Six Sigma and 8D methodologies
Preferred
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Experience in wiring harness manufacturing
CAD experience with 3DX, CATIA, or TeamCenter
