Locksmith Administrator
The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Corrections is seeking a Locksmith Administrator to oversee the development, installation, and maintenance of locking systems within adult institutions. This role ensures the safety and security of facilities by managing locksmith functions and maintaining necessary records.

Responsibilities
Develops and maintains the lock systems within the adult institutions
Participates in the development of methods and procedures for the installation and maintenance of the lock system
Repairs a variety of locks as needed such as cylinder locks, lever tumbler locks, and pad locks
Combinates locks using manufacturer’s recommendations
Installs and repairs door closers, panic bars, doorknobs, and related locking hardware
Oils and adjust doors and related locks
Makes new keys and duplicates keys as needed
Sets up numbering system for the duplication of keys according to the locksmith's codebook
Maintains records of old and new combinations, instructional materials, and catalogs
Prepares and maintains required reports, work orders, and cost estimates
Audits and purchases necessary equipment and supplies, including blank keys and locks
Coordinates work of locksmith functions
Qualification
Required
High school graduate
Four years of experience in the installation and repair of locks
Additional experience in the installation and repair of locks will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
