Responsibilities
Lead overall UI/UX strategy, visual design, and usability
Collaborate with BAs and technical teams to translate business requirements into UI solutions
Facilitate JAM sessions, user workshops, and usability testing
Analyze user flows, pain points, and information architecture
Produce wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes
Ensure ADA compliance and accessibility testing
Guide developers on UI/UX best practices and remediation
Ensure adherence to SOM Look & Feel Standards
Act as liaison with DTMB / CSS eMichigan team
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience with Figma, Sketch, or equivalent
Strong wireframing, prototyping, and mockup creation
Proven experience with design systems & reusable components
Demonstrated knowledge of ADA / accessibility standards
Experience conducting usability testing
Strong information architecture skills
Experience facilitating user workshops / design sessions
Results-driven design exposure (e.g., A/B testing)
Ability to work onsite in Lansing, MI (hybrid from Day 1)
Preferred
Working knowledge of SASS / LESS
Exposure to Java or .NET environments
Prior State Government / public-sector experience (highly advantageous)
