State Sales Manager

Responsibilities
Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company growth goals
Set annual sales targets, production goals, and performance metrics
Lead, mentor, and hold accountable a team of producers, sales managers, and consultants
Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and ethical sales practices
Drive new client acquisition across key market segments
Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities, including niche markets and geographic expansion
Support producers in complex or high-value sales opportunities and renewals
Establish and maintain a robust sales pipeline and forecasting process
Implement training, coaching, and professional development programs
Monitor individual and team performance; provide regular feedback and performance reviews
Collaborate with leadership on compensation plans and incentive structures
Maintain executive-level relationships with key clients and carrier partners
Collaborate with carrier representatives to support producer success and growth initiatives
Ensure sales practices align with carrier requirements and regulatory standards
Partner with all divisions to ensure smooth onboarding and client retention
Provide sales insights to support operational efficiency and client satisfaction
Align sales efforts with marketing, branding, and lead-generation initiatives
Track and report sales performance, pipeline activity, and growth trends
Use data to inform strategy, resource allocation, and continuous improvement
Present regular updates to executive leadership
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of insurance industry experience, including sales leadership (or equivalent experience)
Proven success leading and scaling sales teams within an insurance brokerage environment
Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and sales cycles
Active insurance license in state of responsibility
Experience with CRM systems and sales performance analytics
Demonstrated success in building sales strategies for growth-oriented organizations
Strategic thinker with strong execution skills
Proven people leader and coach
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
