Policy Manager
The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is dedicated to serving the community by ensuring fairness and accuracy in weight and measures across the county. They are seeking a Policy Manager to conduct research, develop drafts, and coordinate communication regarding strategic initiatives while liaising with various stakeholders on policy collaboration and strategy.
Responsibilities
Conducts research, develops drafts, coordinates communication regarding the Franklin County Auditor’s Office strategic initiatives; monitors and analyzes relevant activity with outside organizations that interact with the Franklin County Auditor’s Office; implements strategy for advancing policy goals with key decision-makers; serves and assists with policy advisement, preparing materials, and special projects; conducts research on innovative policy ideas and the potential impact and outcomes of policies
Liaises as needed with the County Auditor’s Association of Ohio; works with the County Auditor’s Association of Ohio on legislative and policy matters; interacts with other county offices, local municipalities, area commissions, townships, and stakeholder groups on policy collaboration and strategy
Coordinates as needed with the Ohio General Assembly regarding legislation and policy concerning the Franklin County Auditor’s Office; coordinates activities and policy matters as needed with State of Ohio agencies (ex: Ohio Department of Taxation and the Ohio Department of Commerce)
Communicates complex information clearly in writing and in oral presentations to a range of audiences; coordinates contribution of other departments to written and oral presentations; researches and drafts materials explaining Franklin County Auditor’s Office duties, projects, and goals for internal and external use
May be required to work evenings and weekends
Occasional out of county and possibly out of state travel
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public policy or related discipline
Two (2) or more years of related experience and/or training
Any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position
Must be able to register as an Ohio lobbyist
Must possess and maintain valid Ohio driver's license and have an acceptable driving record
Must comply with the FCAO Driving Policy
