Responsibilities

Coordinate and assign tasks to paralegals and legal assistants for cases within the assigned practice area, ensuring workloads are managed efficiently
Administratively manage all phases of litigation, including preparation and organization of pleadings, motion practice, discovery, appellate procedures, and trial documentation
Oversee all aspects of trial and hearing preparation, including pretrial documents, trial transcripts, exhibit tracking, and materials management
Assist with the preparation, filing, and organization of legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, and appeals, leveraging appropriate technology
Conduct factual and legal research with tools such as Westlaw and synthesize findings for attorney use
Perform meticulous citation checks and ensure authorities conform with Bluebook standards; Shepardize and verify accuracy of all cited materials
Organize and maintain both hard copy and electronic case files, expert materials, and attorney notebooks using approved case management systems
Implement and manage organizational systems to track case calendars, pleadings, correspondence, and related documents, ensuring data integrity and accessibility
Regularly communicate and coordinate with courts, outside counsel, clients, experts, vendors, and other firm departments to streamline case processes and communications

Required

Thorough knowledge of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures
Demonstrated proficiency in Bluebook citation formatting and legal document preparation with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities; comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong understanding of rules and procedures for state and federal jurisdictions
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and legal case management software
