Start Up Operations Engineer
Cynet Systems is a company focused on operational excellence, and they are seeking a Start Up Operations Engineer to manage plant systems during startup and normal operations. Responsibilities
Operate local and control room panels as required
Generate and maintain appropriate operating reports
Perform electrical and mechanical system lineups for plant operation
Execute and provide input for daily briefings and Plan of the Day meetings
Follow plant operations reporting structures and guidelines
Conduct plant walk-throughs, observe plant conditions and parameters, and document operating data on shift log sheets and logbooks
Apply personnel protective lockout/tagout (LOTO) packages to ensure safe operation and maintenance activities
Participate in system operability walkdowns
Support planning of operations activities for efficient operation and maintenance
Operate equipment and systems in accordance with process design requirements
Implement general plant safety procedures, including handling hazardous substances and using proper PPE
Follow plant environmental material handling procedures, prevent/mitigate unplanned releases, and respond to developing events to mitigate consequences
Write and enhance procedures for system startup and operation as needed
Ensure strict adherence to published startup procedures and follow management of change for any deviations
Identify equipment deviations from normal operating conditions and restore systems to design operation per commissioning and startup programs
Participate in problem identification, equipment repair documentation, and emergency response activities (fire, medical, environmental)
Isolate equipment in hazardous environments during emergencies
Qualification
Required
Advanced knowledge of industry and regulatory standards
Demonstrated experience with initial startup and shutdown troubleshooting
Experience with initial equipment and system startup
Experience operating pneumatic equipment and systems per design requirements, including operation from local control systems/panels
Knowledge of scopes of work inherent in operations and maintenance projects
Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead, and positively influence team members in a collaborative environment
Proven problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
Experience as a Shift Supervisor, Senior Supervisor, or Commissioning Manager
Understanding of applicable work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs) and Standard Test & Commissioning Procedures (STCPs)
Good working knowledge of project standard applications (e.g., TEAMWorks, Setroute, Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks) and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience managing technical services subcontracts
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
