Equipment Body Repair

They are seeking an Equipment Body Repair specialist to perform skilled journey-level work in repairing and refinishing vehicles and other components, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities
Perform auto body repairs on vehicles involving sheet metal layout, template making and fabricating, and repairing metal and fiberglass body sections
Cut, form, weld, rivet, and braze metals in repairing and fabricating body and equipment sections working from blueprints, sketches, and instructions
Assess and inspect damage to prepare cost estimates for labor and material
Remove and repair damaged body panels, windows, doors, trim plates, mirrors, bumpers, and other vehicle body components
Repair and replace various vehicle parts of non-metal materials including glass, cloth, wood, plastic, rubber, and fiberglass
Make minor repairs on associated electrical and pneumatic components
Prepare, fill, sand, mask, prime, and spot paint surfaces after repairs are completed
Select proper paint colors and substances to paint prepared surfaces; determine necessary application of paint for a thorough coat to ensure a quality product
Perform sheet metal repair work on equipment and facilities such as passenger shelters and other immobile objects
Set up and operate metal, glass, and wood working equipment such as shears, brakes, rollers, grinder, saws, jacks, punches, folders, drills, sanders, gas and electric welders and frame straightening equipment
Inspect repaired vehicles for proper functioning, completion of work, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance
Assist others in performing repair and relevant mechanical work
Perform off-site and/or emergency repairs
Maintain cleanliness in the shop
Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent plus completion of a journey-level body repair and paint program
Additional experience may be substituted for journey-level training program
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must have a complete set of hand tools
Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsements and no air brake restrictions, and corresponding medical certification, or ability to obtain within 180-days of employment
First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain within 180-days of employment
Forklift Certification, or ability to obtain within 180-days of employment
Preferred
Five years of experience in journey-level body repair and paint
Progressive experience in sheet metal fabrication, layout, and bench work
Composite fabrication and repairs
Accident/damage repair of heavy equipment such as passenger coaches, trucks, etc
