SUPERVISORY CARGO SCHEDULER

USAJOBS is seeking a Supervisory Cargo Scheduler at Hickam AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to Load Planning and Capability Forecasting.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the Cargo Scheduling activities of 735 AMS, ensuring that Load Planning and Capability Forecasting comply with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force Instructions (AFI) and Air Mobility Command Instructions (AMCI) legal and regulatory requirements, and meets customer needs
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management
Represents load planning and capability forecasting with a variety of installation and functional area organizations
Reviews daily flying schedule for forecasted missions with special interest on routings and capability forecaster's worksheets depicting space blocks of high priority passengers/cargo
Serves as Capability Forecaster. Manages the coordination of traffic requirements and handling of inbound and outbound aircraft to include military, commercial, and distinguished visitors

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Males must be registered for Selective Service
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Must have a valid driver's license to operate a government motor vehicle
Must be hazardous cargo inspector qualified according to AFJMAN 24-204
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of airlift requirements and capabilities to move cargo to destinations worldwide
Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies and processes
Knowledge of freight loading guidance, procedures, and methods
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a small work center
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Skill in the use of automated material processing equipment and systems
Ability to interpret and apply instructions pertaining to aircraft weight and balance, cargo loading procedures, hazardous cargo compatibility, and materials handling
Transcripts must be verified prior to appointment
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements
