Process Engineer

DISHER is partnering with a leading custom cable assembly and wire harness manufacturer to add a Process Engineer to their team. The Process Engineer will develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new high-reliability wire harness and cable assemblies while leading continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Review customer prints and define efficient, high-quality wire harness and cable assembly processes
Design and specify tooling, fixtures, and materials for repeatable, cost-effective production
Lead NPI activities including DFM, BOM review, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions
Maintain compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, MIL-STD, and ITAR requirements
Support quality, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement in a small-shop environment
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, suppliers, and quoting teams
Assist with electrical testing, EMI/EMC considerations, and high-reliability assemblies
Use CAD software for harness routing and formboard support
Heavy focus on new product development with growing responsibility for ongoing process improvement

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
3+ years experience
Ability to read prints and develop efficient wire harness or cable assembly processes
Experience with tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and NPI support
Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, and MIL-STD requirements, or ability to quickly learn
Hands-on, shop-floor–oriented engineer with strong problem-solving skills
CAD experience for harness routing or formboard support

Preferred

Wire harness/cable assembly experience preferred
Military, defense, or aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
Experience in high-mix or contract manufacturing environments preferred
