Research Associate
UCLA's Labor Occupational Safety and Health (LOSH) Program is dedicated to improving worker health and safety. The Research Associate will contribute to research initiatives focusing on worker safety and health issues, particularly for vulnerable worker populations, by assisting with various research activities and collaborating with community partners.

Assist with project planning and coordination
Convening meetings with project contributors
Creating research tools in English and Spanish
Collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
Summarizing and presenting results for various audiences
Contributing to written reports, publications, and grant proposals
Representing LOSH in community meetings and professional conferences
Participating in LOSH organizational and staff development initiatives
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of occupational safety and health, labor movement, and/or participatory action research
Experience administrating surveys, conducting interviews, and leading focus groups with workers and/or community audiences
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with diverse partners from labor, community-based organizations, government agencies, and academia
Available for occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend activities as determined by operational needs
Fluency in written and spoken Spanish
Possess a valid CA driver's license in good standing with access to a car for local travel and the ability to travel within California
Master's Degree in Public Health or related field and / or equivalent experience / training
Must possess, upon hire, and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License in accordance with the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles
Preferred
Experience developing surveys and interview guides
Experience securing qualitative data from publicly available sources, cleaning datasets, and preparing data for analysis
Experience using Atlas.ti or other qualitative analysis software and experience using Qualtrics, REDCap and/or other programming surveys
Experience using STATA or other statistical software
