Responsibilities
Support refactoring and modernization of a legacy Collateral application, transitioning from PL/SQL and SAS to a target-state Java and Python-based architecture
Design and develop scalable backend services using Java (Spring ecosystem) and Python
Build and support event-driven architectures using AWS Kinesis, SNS, and SQS
Develop and maintain serverless components leveraging AWS Lambda
Work with AWS data services including RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue to support backend integrations
Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and QA teams during design, development, and testing phases
Ensure performance, reliability, and security best practices across backend services
Participate in CI/CD pipelines and follow DevOps-aligned development practices
Support production stability, defect resolution, and performance tuning as needed
Qualification
Required
10+ years of Java backend development experience
2+ years of hands-on Python development
Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including: Kinesis, SNS, SQS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Glue
Hands-on experience with Terraform
Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy applications
Strong understanding of backend architecture, data flows, and integration patterns
