The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products from suppliers meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, working closely with various teams to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through audits and quality assessments

Develop, review, and approve supplier quality documentation; implement and manage Supplier Quality Scorecards

Lead continuous improvement activities to improve Supplier Quality

Lead root cause and corrective action activities to resolve field and in-plant quality issues associated with supplier quality. Lead NCR’s and Corrective Action closures including the verification of permanent supplier corrective actions

Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (delivery, corrective actions, audit results)

Lead supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and verify effectiveness

Conduct supplier audits (on-site or remote) to ensure compliance with Quality Management System

Collaborate with suppliers to resolve nonconformances and prevent recurrence

Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness and capability

Review incoming inspection data and manage containment activities when issues arise; recommend and implement process improvements as needed

Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce cost, risk, and defects

Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers on tolerancing improvements that will support cost reductions, improved delivery performance and quality improvements as needed

Support resolution of COPQ reporting and resolution of COPQ cost recovery with suppliers

Partner with purchasing organization to roll out supplier quality program and manage improvement

Create a safe and well-organized working environment and actively support the safety process
