Systems Engineer - Night Birdwatcher

Responsibilities
Drive All Up Round + Canister configuration definition including deriving requirements from known use cases and developing vehicle architecture
Oversee integration activities for vehicle builds through the production environment for Weapon System Integration (WSI) and follow-on Tech Insertion (TI) contracts
Provide on-site production and design issue resolution by communicating and coordinating between the required Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) including Responsible Systems Engineers (RSEs), Certified Product Engineers (CPEs), Chief Engineers (CEs), Manufacturing Engineers (MEs), Quality Engineers (QEs), and assembly level drawing owners
Drive issue resolution by composing remediation instructions and entering within quality engineering tools (Q-notes)
Coordinate and communicate resolution instructions across multifunctional teams including quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production leadership
Serve as the communication link between Engineering and Production to track vehicle build progress and provide regular updates to management and customers
Drive continuous process and design improvements by applying corrective actions and driving changes through Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB)
Derive regression testing requirements with All Up Round SEIT (AUR SEIT) Test Lead when anomalous conditions are observed during test events or when production rework functionally affects vehicle state
Lead data review efforts following acceptance test events by coordinating with RSEs and production leadership
Support what-if analyses to support reprioritization of vehicles in flow
Drive Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations following observations of anomalous defective conditions during acceptance testing
Some travel required~10%

Willingness to work night shift
Preferred
Strong multidisciplinary analytical and complex problem-solving skills with demonstrated critical thinking skills in a high pace environment
Familiarity with missile system design and architecture
Previous experience writing, reviewing, or using Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs)
Experience using Automation Framework (reading, writing, executing test procedures)
Previous experience with defect resolution including Material Review Board (MRB) certification or knowledge in Quality Assurance processes
Familiarity with Lockheed Martin production environment
Ability to articulate complex technical and programmatic issues to peers, management, and customers
Demonstrated leadership skills and systems thinking
Willingness to travel and support extended work shifts per production demand
