Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Team Member

RTX is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Team Member to join their facility in Midland, GA. The role involves performing ultrasonic inspections, analyzing data, and ensuring quality control in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

This position entails working at a desk while monitoring a computer screen in a controlled environment
Training and/or education in Quality processes or its equivalent, including on the job training in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) inspection techniques. Knowledge of Matec and IRT Ultrasonic systems is preferred
Must be able to work all shifts. You will normally train on a different shift than you are assigned. Overtime may be required
Complete classroom theory, OFT and certification examination as required by Pratt & Whitney NDT qualifications
Must be able to obtain NDT Level 2 Certification within designated timeframe as required by Pratt & Whitney
Re-certification required at interval specified by Pratt & Whitney qualifications
Must perform Ultrasonic Inspections using IRT or Matec Systems
Perform daily walk around of equipment, maintain cleanliness of inspection area and be capable of troubleshooting equipment issues
Responsible for Analyzing Computer Generated Data and signing off product Inspections
Must be able to perform all setup requirements per work instructions and report performance goals
Conduct Ultrasonic inspection functions in a manufacturing environment
This position will work directly with the QP&E team
Perform quality review metallurgical dispositions following procedures as required
Work with Material Control Lab and manufacturing personnel to investigate problems encountered through inspection and determine their effect upon the part
Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
Responsible for signing-off product inspected
Reading Engineering Blue Prints and use precision measurement devices
Keep detailed records and t report performance goals

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass a Jaeger 1 Eye Exam
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
A working Background in Quality, or Background in a NDT Method, or Background in math/science, or Background in aerospace manufacturing environment with a concentration in engineering/quality/process controls, or previously passed NDT Class or High Performer for internal candidates with current supervisor Letter of recommendation
Must be able to work all shifts

Preferred

1+ year of experience in a quality/aerospace manufacturing environment
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and quality procedures
Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
Knowledge of Matec and IRT Ultrasonic systems
Good organizational skills
