The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing electrical raceway systems, collaborating with the engineering team, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes while contributing to the development of guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

Design electrical raceway systems including duct bank, tray, and above ground conduit or model 3D equipment items for power plant systems including simple cycle gas balance of plant systems

Route cable through raceway design ensuring applicable codes and fill is adhered to working in collaboration with engineering

Plan and develop drawings for production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations

Understand and develop the capability of quality checking in the 3D models for interferences and constructability optimizations

Resolve comments on checked drawings; understand and implement the comments made

Complete as-builts by utilizing RFIs, ECNs and red-marked drawings from construction to develop 'Conformed to Construction Records' as required

Seek ways to improve customer satisfaction, the quality of the work product, and operating efficiencies

Help develop, review, and implement guidelines and procedures to ensure design standardization and templating of our PowerFLX work

Stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices and find practical applications

Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications related to design requirements

Check design for consistency, safety, operability, quality, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking

Basic understanding of electrical raceway layouts and field drawings

Required

Associate degree in drafting technology, design or related fields or High School Diploma with Relevant coursework/experience

Two (2) years of experience in related work field

Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings

Basic understanding of design software such as: E3D, Plant 3D, Smartplant 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs

Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
