Captive Resources (CRI) is a leading consultant to member-owned group captive insurance companies. They are seeking a Legal Summer Intern to support their legal team with research, document drafting, and collaboration across various departments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Support legal research and analysis across corporate, insurance, reinsurance, employment, and compliance matters

Assist with drafting, reviewing, and updating a variety of legal and business documents, including non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, reinsurance agreements, and information memoranda

Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams such as Finance, HR, IT, Tax and Broker Services

Assist with the development of internal policies, procedures, and legal training materials, including compliance updates

Support legal technology initiatives, including testing and training related to CRI’s contract management system

Gain exposure to an established mutual fund for CRI’s captive members through review of investment-related agreements, policies, and recurring calls with leadership

Contribute to materials explaining the formation and operation of new captives

Required

Bachelor's degree and currently pursuing a law degree from an accredited law school

Strong team attitude while also thriving independently and collaborating effectively in team environments

Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Position is based in Itasca, Illinois (home of CRI's corporate headquarters), with some work-from-home flexibility
