CMM PROGRAMMER & OPERATOR – NIGHT SHIFT

Beacon Industries is a privately held CNC machine shop located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. They are seeking a CMM Programmer & Operator to work independently in programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines, ensuring quality inspection processes and compliance with engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

Good knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines/Scanners
Ability to create diagrams and work instructions for inspection processes
Analyze measurement results and provide comprehensive reports to engineering and manufacturing teams
Review and interpret engineering drawings, CAD data, and specifications to determine inspection requirements
Review planning, engineering drawings, and digital models to determine proper dimensions and tolerance specifications for specific parts and/or tools to be measured
Create automated CMM programs offline
Create programs following a priority list to work ahead of schedule
Compare measurements to specified dimensions and tolerances noting discrepancies
Perform manual dimensional check as needed to verify questionable results
Document all non-conforming conditions
Analyze data, prepare, and deliver reports
Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all customers, internal/external
Accept and adapt easily to change
Operate job-related equipment with or without assistance
Meet physical demands of job with or without assistance
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

At least 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry
5+ years with recent aerospace machine shop experience
Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficiency in using PC-DMIS software
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Understand AS9102 requirements
Proficient reading blueprints, using shop math, and GD&T
Ability to read, interpret, and apply customer defined standards and specifications
Exhibits dependability, including following instructions, responding to supervisor's direction; and taking responsibility for own actions
Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed, and perform work independently without being prompted
Ability to manage competing priorities, prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and work within deadlines
Model up fixturing for CMM programs
Ability to Relocate: Dallas, TX 75253: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Preferred

GED or High School diploma preferred but not required
Certification or two-year degree preferred but not required
Coordinate measuring machine: 1 year (Preferred)
Ability to Commute: Dallas, TX 75253 (Preferred)
