Responsibilities
Support and oversee field electrical maintenance activities, including lighting, air conditioning, motors, and electrical equipment
Perform and support electrical isolation procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), in accordance with safety standards
Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to lower-level electrical technicians
Assemble, test, modify, and maintain electrical machinery, control equipment, circuitry, and components per engineering specifications
Diagnose causes of electrical equipment malfunctions or failures and perform preventive and corrective maintenance
Record maintenance and operational data and recommend equipment modifications or replacements as needed
Support switching operations and work with switching orders for high-voltage electrical systems
Monitor and support electrical system operations using SCADA platforms
Anticipate field maintenance challenges and provide effective technical oversight during normal and high-stress operating conditions
Communicate field conditions clearly and recommend corrective actions to supervisors and operations teams
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical system reliability and safety
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in a closely related electrical maintenance or operations role
Strong background in high-voltage electrical transmission and distribution systems
Experience supporting substation and/or switchyard operations, including switching orders and LOTO procedures
High-voltage electrical maintenance experience in industrial or energy-related environments
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical system issues
Experience with electrical protective relaying, metering maintenance, and programming (e.g., SEL systems)
Familiarity with SCADA systems used for electrical system monitoring and control (e.g., Monarch OSI, Zenon, or similar platforms)
Strong understanding of field-level electrical maintenance operations and safety practices
Ability to anticipate field conditions and support remote operations effectively
Applicable electrical certifications or equivalent professional experience
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document conditions and recommend remediation steps
Proven team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functional groups
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, tight deadlines, and high-pressure situations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
Oil and gas or heavy industrial electrical operations experience preferred
