Responsibilities

Assessing materials based on conformance to specifications
Assessing parts and hardware based on conformance to design requirements
Conducting hands on analytical chemistry testing using a variety of laboratory techniques
Following standard written protocols, as well as developing and fabricating unique test plans and test setups
Reviewing material documentation and assessment of specifications
Engagement with subject matter experts to understand material usage
Engagement with suppliers

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore by the start of Summer 2026
Academic Lab Experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

Understanding and coursework in Materials Science and Polymer Science
Understanding of material safety datasheets, military specifications, and ASTM test methods
Class projects, professional internships, or academic research demonstrating the ability to apply technical course work in Chemistry
Ability to write concise technical reports summarizing analyses
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
3.0 cumulative GPA desired
