Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and manage the overall supply chain strategy in order to maximize efficiency and productivity
Manage the full supply chain process for new and existing products from order entry through shipping of the product
Develop, implement and manage process to provide exceptional customer service
Develop, implement and manage cross-functional integrated planning process that incorporates make verse buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material and associated cost elements
Performs analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop/execute build to order and build to forecast plans
Coordinate with business teams to develop best strategy for production planning to support customer demand
Establish and implement methods related to systems that support inventory forecasting, purchasing and material control. Develop, implement and maintain MRP
Prepares customer delivery reports to proactively communicate potential late deliveries
Develop and execute a sourcing strategy to meet the company’s business growth and sourcing requirements
Develop and manage relationships with existing and potential suppliers to meet established cost, quality and delivery targets
Manage system to evaluate, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance
Coordinate with quality, engineering, machining and secondary operations to ensure minimum 95% on-time delivery. This is achieved by establishing and monitoring production schedule to proactively identify and address issue
Achieve financial objectives by working with management team to prepare material budget, schedule expenditures and inventory adjustments
Participates in Quality / MRB meetings when needed to resolve quality issues working with internal and external resources
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Secondary departments to achieve cost reduction targets
Manage inventory levels to increase inventory to 8 turns on average per year
Working with suppliers to reduce manufacturing cost 5% per year with purchased items
Maintain knowledge and compliance of company operating procedures
Interview candidates, mentor, develop, and perform performance appraisals
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, materials management, customer service and sourcing within a manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge, experience and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
ERP/MRP implementation and planning experience required
Ability to understand current industry best practices and technology trends
Ability to identify tools, processes and metrics to optimize supplier value
Ability to leverage metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance
Ability to perform cost modeling, cost analysis and 'make versus buy' analysis
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions to improve department and company effectiveness
Ability use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Preferred
Epicor software experience preferred
Experience in an ISO & FDA environment preferred
