Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and scale dedicated engineering teams fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability

Manage resource allocation and hiring to ensure the team has the necessary skills to execute on the product vision

Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize the backlog, refine user stories, and ensure the successful execution of projects using the Shape Up framework

Own the architectural vision for a Mango Voice engineering group made up of multiple teams, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability

Oversee the design and implementation of complex APIs and routing logic that facilitate seamless handoffs between domains

Ensure the platform can securely access and utilize contextual data (e.g., patient information) from third-party integrations (CRM/PMS/EHR) at the moment of interaction

Drive the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering with Product teams to deployment and maintenance

Define and track technical KPIs regarding platform reliability, API performance, and AI response latency to ensure high customer satisfaction

Work closely with UX/Design and Product to ensure technical constraints are communicated early and that the final output matches the intended user experience

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing engineering teams (Engineering Manager or Director level)

Extensive experience managing the development of products related to a SaaS product customer experience, deep technical data integrations between multiple systems

Strong technical acumen in API design, cloud platform architecture, and solving scalability challenges in a high-volume communications environment

Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with Product Managers and present technical strategies to executive leadership

Preferred

Prior experience building software for the Healthcare space, with a deep understanding of HIPAA compliance and security requirements

Direct experience implementing Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies and production-ready conversational agents

Experience leading teams using the Shape Up framework or Agile methodologies

Extensive experience managing the development of products related to Voice/Telephony (CPaaS/UCaaS), Messaging (SMS/MMS/WhatsApp), or Conversational AI
