Analyst, Revenue Accounting
Ciena is a global leader in high-speed connectivity with a people-first approach. As an Analyst in Revenue Accounting, you will be responsible for the reconciliation and analysis of customer revenue and expense accounts and support the Finance team with various schedules and business planning.

Responsibilities
You’ll manage the completion of day-to-day transaction driven activities while maintaining current revenue recognition files (white papers), communications with external auditors and other internal groups
You will be responsible for creating efficient processes in retrieving data from Oracle, and OBIEE/Looker
You will support the broader Finance team with various schedules and will be an integral contributor to the creation and roll-up of the yearly business plan and quarterly forecast
You’ll regularly build detailed spreadsheets and conduct ad hoc analysis, including the analysis of revenue and COGS actuals versus forecast
Qualification
Required
Minimum Bachelor's in Accounting coupled with experience in accounting
Demonstrated knowledge of Revenue Management Software
Ability to review and analysis large amounts of data in excel
Ability to work four weekends, one weekend for each quarter close of the fiscal year
Preferred
Certified Professional Accountant designation
Direct Exposure to Revenue Recognition Rules and Regulations
