Responsibilities
Execute the technical design process, managing the fit of garments from initial development to production approval
Analyze product to develop accurate fit specifications and construction standards
Create and maintain detailed technical packages and specifications
Lead fit sessions on live models; evaluate garments, document fit corrections, and communicate clearly with factories
Collaborate closely with Design to maintain design intent while adhering to fit, comfort, and quality standards
Troubleshoot fit, construction, and manufacturing issues, providing effective solutions
Mentor and provide direction to Assistant/Associate Technical Designers as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Fashion or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
2-3 years of experience in technical design
Strong portfolio demonstrating technical flat sketching, spec development, and fit correction documentation
Proficiency in patternmaking, garment construction, and grading
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Experience with plus-size fit is highly preferred
Ability to travel to the office 1-2 times per week for essential fit sessions is strongly preferred
