Responsibilities
Define system requirements and acceptance criteria that connect user needs to engineering reality
Build and run system-level test setups (benchtop and hardware-in-the-loop) to validate performance
Coordinate integration across teams, manage dependencies, and clear roadblocks
Execute field trials with repeatable procedures and high-quality data capture
Troubleshoot integration issues using structured root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
Maintain interface specifications, architecture diagrams, and system documentation
Support hazard analysis and safety validation to ensure safe operation
Qualification
Required
3-5+ years in systems engineering, robotics, or integration roles (internships and substantial project work count)
Strong problem-solving skills with experience identifying root causes and validating fixes
Working knowledge of robotics systems: sensors, actuators, embedded systems, and basic perception/localization/control
Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar language
Ability to design experiments, analyze results, and document findings clearly
Strong technical communication skills
BS or MS in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Preferred
Experience with ROS or similar robotics frameworks
Hands-on work with localization/mapping systems or real-world deployment challenges
Background in hardware-in-the-loop testing, automated test systems, or fielded robotic platforms
Familiarity with hazard analysis, risk assessment, or functional safety for machinery/robotics
Exposure to Agile development practices
