Show Me Your Mumu is a fashion company seeking an Associate Designer for their Guest and Bridal categories. The role involves supporting the Senior Designer in the design process and managing product development for Import SKUs.

Responsibilities

Support the Senior Designer on finished goods sourcing and development

Work with the Raw Materials Team to source fabrics and trims

Receive vendor packages and disperse the contents to the correct team member. Assists in sending out packages to vendors

Create CADs

Maintain and update the working line sheet with all necessary information including but not limited to Style Number, Color Code, Style Description, and Color Description

Create Tech Packs including construction and bill of material details

Communicates regularly with overseas vendors to facilitate the physical creation of Development garment samples

Create and maintain a finished goods WIP to track Import SKUs

Maintain and enforce due dates with outside vendors to ensure time and action deadlines are achieved

Daily communication with members of the Design and Tech team regarding construction, workmanship, answer questions, etc

Attend weekly Category meetings with the Designer, Sr Director of Imports, and VP of Manufacturing to report on the status of each Import SKU

Maintain and organize the sample racks, including reference garments, sourcing options, and vendor made samples

Confirm, record, and organize all vendor pricing

Create, publish, and maintain all BOMs for ERP data entry

Collaborate cross-functionally with Patternmakers, Domestic Product Development, Raw Material, and Production team members throughout the design and development process

Other duties as assigned

Required

Highly proficient in sketching/CAD creation using Adobe Illustrator

Must have a great eye for trend and color

Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed

PC/Mac literate with proficient understanding and skills in using keyboard and Microsoft Office products

Candidates must be highly organized with ability to prioritize and multitask

Dynamic problem solving and project management skills

3-4 years' Design experience in the young contemporary, contemporary market, or related field

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Fashion Design preferred or related fields

Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel

Knowledge across multiple ready to wear categories. Categories must include but are not limited to wovens, cut and sew, and knit dresses, tops, and bottoms

Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills

Strong customer focus and ability to work under time and task pressures

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos

Ability to write correspondence

Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to other employees on the team

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
