Staff Counsel
Responsibilities
Reviews contracts to ensure compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, federal laws, and Franklin County policies and procedures
Conducts legal research and provides legal opinions and implements changing legal obligations and related policy goals
Ensures all divisions of the Auditor’s Office are meeting the statutory obligations of the Office
Assists the General Counsel in providing guidance to staff on legal and compliance issues
Drafts Board resolutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in political science, business administration, public administration, or other related discipline
Possession of Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
One (1) to three (3) years of related experience
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and maintain insurability under the County's vehicle insurance policy
Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio and be a member in good standing of the Bar of the State of Ohio
Preferred
Knowledge of public sector processes and/or Franklin County government
