Responsibilities
Gather and clarify customer requirements; convert them into specifications
Develop customer and leadership proposals: concepts, drawings, analyses, and cost models
Plan and manage engineering projects through release
Lead design/drawing/analysis reviews and close actions
Track program health; report technical status and risks to management
Collaborate across Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Product Management, and Quality to meet commitments
Execute core engineering analyses (FMEA, FEA) and documented design reviews
Create test plans, support testing, interpret data, summarize findings, and implement changes
Field questions from customers and suppliers via phone, email, and onsite visits
Provide hands-on build support: assembly, welding, test setups, and trials
Create, maintain, and enforce Product Engineering standards
Contribute to related duties and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
Training in CAD/FEA/product development preferred
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
2+ years with SolidWorks (or similar CAD) and formal design procedures
2+ years in ergonomics, material handling, caster design, metal fabrication, injection-molded plastics, cast polyurethane, or closely related experience
Clear communication, strong analytical capability, and positive collaboration skills
