National Fuel Gas Company is a prominent oil & gas exploration and production company. The GIS Intern will be an integral member of the Geomatics team, responsible for supporting GIS workflows, data management, and collaboration on various projects.

Responsibilities

Learn the responsibilities of GIS workflows and the importance of data integrity, organization, and visualization in supporting company operations

Assist with leasehold and data inventory management, including data validation, cleanup, and organization to ensure accuracy and consistency

Support the creation, maintenance, and updating of GIS databases, shapefiles, and geospatial datasets

Collaborate with team members to integrate GIS solutions with company systems and processes

Research and implement best practices for GIS data management and workflow efficiency

Provide general GIS and mapping support as needed for various projects and company initiatives

Complete and present an internship project

Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs

Required

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, or have recently completed a degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Environmental Science, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro

Basic understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and cartographic principles

Familiarity with database management and data visualization techniques

Basic Windows proficiency (excel, outlook, and word) is required

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Strong written and verbal communication skills

A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
